Despite challenging pitch conditions and facing some of Wingrave’s first-team players, our team emerged victorious, extending our winning streak to an impressive 10 games. From the very beginning, we showed our strength by scoring the first goal within the opening minute. Isaac delivered a diagonal pass to Sina, who confidently slotted the ball past the keeper in a one-on-one situation.
Just two minutes later, we doubled our lead as Will made a powerful run forward and capitalized on an assist from Sina. At the 14-minute mark, Isaac joined the scoring with a well-worked team goal. Although we created numerous opportunities, we were unable to convert them into goals, resulting in a halftime score of Hearts 3-0 Wingrave.
After halftime, Junior was substituted for Joshua, and Isaac wasted no time in doubling his goal tally just three minutes into the second half, courtesy of an assist from his brother Josh. At the 51-minute mark, Josh made a blistering run down the left channel and found Sina at the back post for an easy tap-in, securing his second goal of the game.
Fifteen minutes later, Will displayed composure as he scored a through-own-goal, deftly dinking the ball over a diving keeper, further extending our lead to 6-0. Despite the comfortable advantage, we continued to apply pressure and finally found a breakthrough at the 75th minute when our skipper slotted the ball past the keeper from Mansoor’s pass.
Wingrave managed to pull one back at the 82nd minute, but just two minutes later, Isaac scored a remarkable strike from 25 yards out. In the dying moments of the game, Wingrave converted a penalty, resulting in a final score of Hearts 8-2 Wingrave.
While it wasn’t the cleanest of games, this victory brings us one step closer to promotion to Division One, and our 10-game winning streak is a testament to the hard work and determination of our team.
